Bangladesh Government's Ban On Local Porn Site

The police requested the government to take steps to shut 84 porn sites featuring uncertified erotic photographs & video clips of Bangladeshi men & women, a senior police officer said. ‘We have requested the government to shut the net sites as they jeopardise the social life of plenty of Bangladeshi young boys & girls as their nude photographs & X-rated video clips were put on the sites without permission,’ assistant inspector general of police Mohammad Nazrul Islam told New Age, a daily Bangladeshi English newspaper. The police made the request after two years of inquiry which revealed that a section of people from outside the country is uploading such photographs & video clips captured secretly. ‘There are several thousand such photographs & video clips of Bangladeshi men & women on such sites, which also publish commercial for prostitution,’ the police officer said, quoting a document submitted to the home secretary.
