Internet Explorer 9 Details, Firefox 3.6 Still Faster



Microsoft has announced that when Internet Explorer 9 is released it will have a huge increase in performance, but they have not yet committed to a launch date. The next generation browser from Microsoft has only been in development for three weeks, and Windows President Steven Sinofsky has said that there is a huge amount of work to do.
Microsoft know that they need to spend more time on trying to improve the speed on rendering JavaScript pages, early Acid3 benchmark tests for Web 2.0 applications on IE9 shows a score of four times more than the current version, Internet Explorer 8.
According to TechRadar, IE 9 has a score of 32 compared to 8 for IE8, although this sounds great, just consider that Firefox 3.6 beta has recently scored 92 out of a possible 100. Internet Explorer 9 has scored much the same as the current Google Chrome, Safari and Opera.
The new Internet Explorer 9 will use the hardware from the PC to gain its speed, this is thanks to a new rendering engine. This will be the first browser to use such a technique.
